The Orion 15 - in a word, OW!
http://www.orionharriers.org.uk/fif15.htm
The Orion 15 was without doubt the hardest run I have ever done in my life! 15 miles of mud, hills, tracks and fields. Almost lost my trainers at least twice, and thought I was out with a twisted ankle at about 9 miles in… These Essex runners are hardcore!
The rollercoaster of a 3hr training run….
1st hour - Try to ignore the huge distance stretching out ahead (Dulwich to Nunhead, Nunhead to Brockley, Brockley to Greenwich, Greenwich to Blackheath…) and concentrate instead on Tinie, Plan B, Girls Aloud and co.
2nd hour - Surprise yourself by feeling remarkably ok, and have a Rocky moment at the top of a hill in Greenwich Park overlooking the whole city.
3rd hour - Slow to a near crawl, and try to find absolutely anything to take your mind off the pain in your legs. Make the mistake of reading headstones as a distraction going through Nunhead Cemetery, and almost have a breakdown.
With this much of an emotional roller-coaster, who needs booze eh?
£400 raised at ‘Byte Fest’ gig night
Great turn out for the charity live music night yesterday.
All four bands played amazing sets, and Charlie our resident comedian kept the crowd entertained in between…
Will post some videos shortly - highlight has got to be the Brands2Life version of ‘Sunshine of Your Love’ - outshining even Clapton himself!

Look a bit less like I’m going to keel over at the end of the Brighton Half - 1hr 55. Doing it for the cats this time (Cats Protection League). Nice vest, I hear you say….
Live music night planned for Wed 9th March - £5 in, which goes straight to Action for Children, and some great bands booked. Come along, and bring as many as you can. We’ll also have a raffle on the night to win a lovely Fortnum & Mason hamper. SALLY X
